“Party plot” covers three quite different things in Vadodara: open lawns, air-conditioned banquet halls, and properties with both. Which one you want is decided less by budget than by two questions most families answer too late: how many guests will actually be seated at once, and whether you are allowed to bring your own caterer. Those two are what this comparison is built around.
What Is the Best Wedding Venue in Vadodara?
There is no single best wedding venue in Vadodara, and any venue telling you it is the best one is selling rather than advising. What exists is a best venue for your function, and it is decided by four things: your guest count, whether guests are staying overnight, whether you want to bring your own caterer, and whether the date falls inside the November to February outdoor season.
For a residential wedding where families stay on site, a resort such as Banyan Paradise is the right shape of venue. For the largest guest lists, The Turf and LVP publish the biggest lawns. For a heritage setting in the middle of the city with your own caterer allowed, that is what we are. The categories below say which venue wins which case, including the ones we lose.
What a Party Plot Actually Is
A party plot is an open, walled plot of ground rented out for functions, usually with a stage, a kitchen area for caterers and parking. It is the standard Gujarati wedding venue and it is not the same as a banquet hall, which is an enclosed air-conditioned room, or a wedding lawn, which is the garden of a larger property. Several Vadodara venues, this one included, are all three at once: a lawn, a hall and the grounds around them, booked separately or together.
The practical difference is season and weather. An open party plot works from November to February, when Vadodara evenings are cool and dry. A hall works all year. If your date falls in the monsoon, a venue with no indoor fallback is a risk, and most party plots in this city, ours included, have no tenting.
Best for very large weddings
The Turf by Vikrama, LVP Banquets
If the guest list runs past 1,500, the field narrows fast. The Turf publishes a 2,000-seated lawn and LVP publishes the same on palace grounds. Ram Baug and Siddharth Farm also list lawns in that range. We are not in this category: past about 1,200 floating, we would be overselling.
Best if you want your own caterer
Pancham, Krishna Party Plot, Shivmahal Palace, Bhaikaka
Catering policy is the single most expensive line in the contract and the one families check last. Several of the larger venues, LVP, Ram Baug and Siddharth Farm among them, are in-house only. Pancham and Krishna are the opposite: outside catering only. Bhaikaka, Vihal Greens and this venue allow either, which is what you want if your family already has a caterer it trusts.
Best heritage setting
LVP Banquets, Shivmahal Palace
Only two venues in this list are genuinely historic buildings rather than event grounds. LVP is the larger of the two and sits on the Lukshmi Villas estate. Shivmahal Palace is a 1936 Gaekwad residence with the lawn in front of the facade. If scale is what matters, LVP. If you want a heritage backdrop and your own caterer, this one.
Best for parking
Bhaikaka Party Plot
Bhaikaka publishes 1,000 car spaces, far beyond anything else disclosed in the city. Preet and Kailash each publish 100 cars and 200 bikes, and we park 100 vehicles with valet. Most venues do not publish a parking number at all, which is worth asking about directly rather than assuming.
Best with rooms on site
Banyan Paradise Resort, Ram Baug
For a wedding where guests stay over, Banyan Paradise lists 70 rooms and Ram Baug lists 10. Preet lists nine air-conditioned rooms. We have three, which covers the couple and the bridal party getting ready, not an out-of-town guest list.
Best for mid-size functions of 300 to 800
Vihal Greens, Preet, Kailash
A 400-guest function on a 2,000-capacity lawn looks empty, which is a real problem nobody warns you about. Vihal Greens scales from 350, Preet seats 800 with a 400-seat dining room, and Kailash works in the 500 range. Our hall covers this range indoors while the lawn stays available for the reception.

Where to Look, Area by Area
Vadodara’s venues cluster in four bands, and which band you choose decides how far your guests drive more than it decides what you pay.
Alkapuri and Racecourse, the centre. Old Padra Road and the Racecourse area put you inside the city: shortest run from Vadodara Junction, easiest for guests staying in city hotels, and the tightest on space, which is why on-site parking matters most here. Shivmahal Palace and LVP both sit in this band.
Waghodia Road and Ajwa Road, the east. Where most of the large-capacity plots are, Pancham, Aditya Royal, Bhaikaka and Kailash among them. More ground per rupee and far more parking, at the cost of a longer drive for guests coming from the west of the city.
Vemali, Sama and Savli Road, the north. Vihal Greens, Siddharth Farm, Banyan Paradise and Preet. This is the band to look at for a residential wedding, since the resorts with room inventory are here.
Chhani, Akota and Saiyed Vasna. Ram Baug, HL Patel and Bhailal Patel. Mixed sizes, generally quieter roads, worth checking approach-road width if you are planning a baraat with a band and horses.
Three Questions to Ask Every Venue You Call
1. What is the seated number, not the floating number? Venues quote floating capacity because it is the bigger figure. Once a stage, a mandap and buffet counters are placed, the comfortable seated number is usually 30 to 40 percent below it. Ask for both.
2. Can I bring my own caterer? In-house-only venues are not necessarily more expensive, but you lose the ability to negotiate the single largest cost in the wedding. Get the answer before you fall in love with the lawn.
3. Where do 200 cars actually go? Most venues in this city do not publish a parking number. On Old Padra Road and Waghodia Road in season, the difference between on-site parking and street parking is an hour of your guests’ evening.
