On the grass. The open lawn takes a full guest list seated once the stage, mandap and buffet counters are placed, and a full wedding guest list as a floating reception. The stage goes against the palace, so the building is the backdrop rather than something a backdrop has to compete with.

Dinners are served outdoors, including the long seated dinners families ask about: the tables run on the lawn with the lit facade behind them.

Season, and the Question You Should Ask Us

Because the function lives outdoors, the date matters more here than at an indoor hall. November to February is the season, and it is the season precisely because a Vadodara evening then needs no cooling and no cover. The lawns have no tenting.

Everything is at ground level, lawn and indoor hall alike, which matters when a third of the guest list is elderly. Guest cars are parked inside the grounds by the valet staff staff.
